My First Experience with What the Bleep Do We Know

I first saw What the Bleep Do We Know, this unique “MovieDoc” while working as a case manager at an alternative school. Once a month, our therapists and case managers would gather to watch a film and explore its psychological meaning.

This one was different. With its blend of science, psychology, spirituality, and controversy, What the Bleep Do We Know immediately pulled me in. But one scene stood out above all the rest: Masaru Emoto’s Water Experiment.

The Masaru Emoto Water Experiment

Dr. Masaru Emoto exposed water to different emotional stimuli — positive words, negative words, music, and even prayers. After freezing the samples, he photographed the crystals that formed. Positive energy created beautiful, intricate patterns, while negative energy formed distorted, chaotic shapes.

In the movie, one character turns to the other and says:

“If thoughts can do that to water, imagine what our thoughts can do to us.”

Considering our bodies are about 90% water, that question hit me hard.

A Tattoo, A Turning Point, and My Holistic Path

Not long after, I decided to get my first tattoo. I was living in North Hollywood, just discovering my holistic path, and I wanted something that carried the same energy as the water experiment.

It had to be words — powerful words. I chose Chinese characters after doing plenty of research, placing them on my body with intention. Down my back, I also added my favorite Bible quote.

This led me deeper into understanding what my body means to me — and how every side of it tells a story.

Did you know each side of the body represents a different type of energy?

Left Side – Feminine Energy (Intuition & Receptivity)

· Connected to heart and emotions

· Inner wisdom

· Navigating feelings

· Linked to the moon (mystery, cycles, subconscious)

Right Side – Masculine Energy (Action & Expression)

· Logical thinking

· Taking action

· Expressive qualities

· Linked to the sun (illumination, direction, movement)

Most of my tattoos are on my masculine side, which makes sense — that’s the energy I tend to use most. But the two on my feminine side remind me where I still need to grow.

Finding Balance Between Feminine and Masculine Energy

The goal isn’t to favor one side over the other, but to integrate both for harmony.

LEFT – Feminine

RIGHT – Masculine

Intuition

Logic

Receptivity

Action

Moon

Sun

Emotions

4 Mind-Body Practices to Restore Balance

Here are some powerful ways to harmonize your inner energies and connect mind, body, and soul:

1.    Alternative Nostril Breathing (Yoga Pranayama)

o   Hold one nostril closed, breathe in, switch, and breathe out.

o   Promotes harmony between both brain hemispheres.

2.    Bilateral Drawing

o   Draw with both hands at the same time, mirroring each other.

o   Helps integrate creative and logical thinking.

3.    Crossing the Midline

o   Move an arm or leg across your body’s center line (e.g., right hand to left knee).

o   Boosts brain hemisphere communication.

4.    Balancing Yoga Poses

o   Try Tree Pose or Half Moon Pose.

o   Improves physical balance and energetic alignment.

Final Thoughts on What the Bleep Do We Know

For me, this film was more than just entertainment — it was a wake-up call. It reminded me that my thoughts can shape my body, my energy, and my life.

This MovieDoc touched all three: Mind, Body, and Soul.

Because when I nurture my body, I change my mind — and that uplifts my soul.

Winner.
